The sun has made an appearance again this morning. I am so happy!!! I think most people will agree that life most certainly is easier when the weather is fine. (Is that an Irish expression? A fine day…..I can’t imagine Elizabeth in Buckingham using the expression…hhhmmm).
And there is nothing like a beautiful sunny day to put a spring in our step & with it bring the promise of long, hot, summer evenings spent by the beach, in the back garden, outside your favourite watering hole, glass of vino in one hand and killer bod firmly seated under it.
Well that is usually what I imagine next summer will be.
Dreaming, is quite frankly, a waste of time unless you dream big, eh? Instead of hankering for a body that you could be proud of and comfortable in whether it be in a bikini in France or a vest and shorts in Garretstown, lets get busy and create it!
Forget Elle, and the rest of the supermodel posse with ridiculously hard to achieve bodies you see in magazines. These girls are (with respect) freaks of nature and there is a reason that they are paid millions to do their jobs. Because what they have is not normal. They can spend their lives dedicated to enhancing what they have been genetically blessed with. What we have is normal!!!
And on top of that they do get digital help.
So this summer lets concentrate on my favourite phrase. BEST. YOU. EVER. Let’s not try to be perfect and fail miserably. Let’s set achievable goals and celebrate each victory. We can all improve on what we have. Just remember that this months choices are next months body!! So it’s time to get moving.
And so the bullet is back!!
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE MY NUTRIBULLET. Mostly because it is so simple to use and there is very little cleaning. I will admit my biggest downfall with the bullet is probably making my smoothies with too much fruit in them. Ideally one would use more vegatables than I do but it takes weaning to get to like them.
And so I figure, especially for anyone starting out, that fruit with some veg is surely better than none of either!!
And with that in mind I have included some tips I found on the Well + Good site recently to counteract that real veggie “green” flavour from the smoothies.
Basic Recipe:
1 Cup Milk (almond, soy, coconut)
1/2 frozen banana
1 Cup Greens (Kale, Spinach, Swiss Chard)
1 Spoonful of any of the below:
1. Cinnamon – Cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar. So if you have a lot of fruit in your smoothies this helps balance out the sugar content and its effect on you.
2. Raw Cacao Powder – This tastes great, has no sugar in it, is full of antioxidants and also contains iron & fibre.
3. Matcha Tea – This is ground green tea from Japan with less caffeine in it. It is high in antioxidants, high in fibre & has ZERO calories, according to Well + Good founder Melisse Gelula.
Failing these tricks you can always add a little more fruit, a tablespoon of nut butter of coconut oil.
Yours in summer dreams,
Cli
