Hola to Olaplex – my hair hero!

I spent a good half an hour one morning about 5 months ago looking around my house for a dog.

We don’t own a dog.

But I still looked, relentless in my search. Why, I hear you ponder? Why would she be looking for a dog? The hair!!!! That’s why. Everywhere!

On my sofas, floors, tops, jackets, pillows, blankets. But on closer inspection I discovered that it was either a dog with lovely creamy highlights, slightly ombre’d and in GREAT condition. Or it was mine. Post baby shed. ALL. OVER. MY. HOUSE.

And suddenly the search was over. My hair was jumping ship faster than my Friday night glass of Shiraz disappears and panic set in. Not only am i going to lose hair post pregnancy…..what’s left will be in awful condition. It’ll start to break, snap, disintegrate and DIE!!!! AND I won’t be allowed have it coloured AND I’ll be not quite brown & not quite blonde. With those thoughts visions of a Donald Trump-esque comb over raced through my head. I was filled with horror. And then I did what every self-respecting woman in these circumstance does. I went into blind panic and dialled 999 rang my hairdresser, namely Sabrina in Kopper Hair Salon.

Sabrina diagnosed a severe over reaction on my part (who me? Really? Are you sure?) and a good dose of Olaplex.

And what, pray tell, is this magic potion of which I speak? (Yes too much Disney going on round mine at the moment.)

This is the non coiffed version – and for the 1st time ever straight out of bed I don’t have broken alien-like tufts sticking out around my forehead.

Olaplex is a new salon service specifically for anyone who lightens their hair. It is a single ingredient chemical (free from silicone or oils) that links broken bonds in the hair during and after the chemical lightning process and makes them stronger than before.

In English, Olaplex allows us to keep on lightening our hair without the same risk of damage we had before – in fact it sends us home with better conditioned hair than what we came in with. And what’s more you don’t have to be getting it coloured – Olaplex exists as a stand alone treatment too.

What’s not to love?

I’ve been getting Olaplex in my hair for several months now and I have to say my hair is in the best condition it has ever been in. Ironic 6 months post bubs no 4! Usually at this point my hair is completely cracked and broken and I would have spent ages putting in home conditioning treatments. Since I’ve been getting Olaplex added to my lightening process I have never once used a deep conditioning treatment at home. Nor have I have to use my detangling sprays post-wash.

Looking casually to the right…..hhhmmmm….ummmmmmm…..casual……. but even my heated wave wand hasn’t damaged my hair with Olaplex in it.

Prior to this I use to resemble Worzel Gummidge on a windy day, post shower.

And so no more imaginary dog. In fact our imaginary dog had a lucky escape really. Our 3 goldfish are recently bereaved, so Towser dodged a bullet by not existing. But if he did, I’m sure he’d think my glossy mane was a sight to behold.

Kopper Hair Salon has given me an amazing prize to giveaway on my Facebook page here so check it out after 5pm today.

Yours, still unable to master a basic french plait,

Cli xx

Your hair looks fantastic, really healthy now. I would have panicked the same as you if I had started to find hair everywhere! x

Your hair is looking fabulous! I remember just running my hand through my hair post pregnancy and coming away with huge clumps – it was shocking! Probably not one for me to consider as I’m very dark haired, but this sounds great for anyone who lightens their hair.

Your hair looks lovely. That’s exactly how I feel though after a shower, I wonder where all that hair came from and wonder if I’m going bald. Looks like a great product to try!

Sounds like a great product! After three pregnancies my hair was in a dire state so I just chopped it all off (about an inch long) and regrew it afresh. I mightn’t have had to do that if I’d known about this product!
