How did we end up in January? Last time I looked it was mid December. I swear I only put my head down for one minute and BOOM! Just like that the silly season has passed us by once again. Once again though I also find myself picking up the pieces from a crazy few weeks of over indulgence & extravagance. This is quite the hangover!
I can safely say that I have tucked away the sequins for another year. They’re great but I’ve had enough of the shuffling noise as I walk anywhere but I’ll miss not getting lost. How could you when you wear sequins? I spent 90% of December leaving a glittering trail of bit of my skirt, dress or top behind me as I shuffled to and from the bathroom, bar or taxi. A bit like Hansel & Gretel – just follow the trail and there she is!
There are a few pieces from my December Marks & Spencer wear that I am bringing into January with me, for sure.

My animal print saw me safely through Christmas Eve. It’ll continue to be pulled out as we approach spring (and dare I even mention summer?!) -the perfect out for dinner or a drink too without being too winter or black!
I wear so much black in the winter – it’s my friend, I feel safe in it, it’s like a warm, sophisticated hug…. but come spring I feel the need to brighten things up a little.
Speaking of brightening things up a little, this gorgeous yellow kimono can be dressed up or down in so many ways. The Marks & Spencer website suggests pairing it with an evening dress however the boho side of me felt jeans and their basic v-neck t-shirt gives it a more day to day cool vibe.
It’s extremely difficult to find a non see through, comfortable basic v-neck t-shirt. I’ve bought several more of these since purchasing this. It’s a fantastic wardrobe staple.

I’m feeling January ready at last.
Spring forward, isn’t that what they say?
